The abstract and the figurative

The Trojan House

Artist Troy Olson's Trojan House with its welcoming banner on the Prestonville Trail, painted in distinctive oceanic blues and rich greens, is a striking and seductive variation on the typical Brighton Victorian terrace.

Troy describes her lush coloured prints and original mixed media paintings of horses, birds, nudes and her signature fish designs as "a mixture of loose and free, juxtaposed with intricate details and pattern, a duality of the abstract and the figurative."

Also seen at the Trojan House this year:
Tobias Williams' textured black steel sculptures, Alison Duggan's pretty, delicate beaded jewellery, Emilia Telese's pen and ink drawings and glamorous "shoe fruits" - jewellery for shoes, Mary Rose's filigree wire jewellery and quirky felt hangings and corsages, Robin Raward's striking acrylic paintings, Ruth Garratt's pale, elegant pottery and delicate watercolour paintings, and John Crane's computer generated flower paintings.

Heard in the kitchen " The brochure's brilliant, a beautifully designed and illustrated colour book. Amazing, beautifully done".
